A Highly adaptable executive/Chartered Accountant and Certified Project Manager with international experience in managing people, resources, risk and audits for prestigious companies in the financial services (banking, investment management, insurance) and oil & gas sectors.

Steve has over 25 years’ cognate experience covering Professional practice, Banking, Investment Services Regulation, Entrepreneurship Consulting, Accounting, External & Internal Auditing, Corporate Governance, Risk Management and Taxation services for companies both within and outside the country.

Steve worked with Legal & General Assurance PLC, a leading insurance and investment management company in the UK and joined the Executive management of Stanbicibtc on his return from the United Kingdoicem in 2013 with responsibility for oversight and direction of the Assurance strategy for the Bank and its subsidiaries as well as the West Africa Region for Standard Bank.

He was till January 2017 when he founded Steve Sampson Consorts, pioneer Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and Group Head Risk Management & Compliance at Nestoil Group.

He was the Chief Finance Officer at the Chrome Group where he led Turn-around efforts of some of the group companies. As Group General Manager, he also supervised the managements of a number of the Group companies.

Steve has led/managed projects in financial due diligence, mergers & acquisitions, forensics, process development and regulatory compliance, including Legal & General (UK’s) compliance with the EU’s directive on Privacy & Electronic Communications (also known as Cookies Regulation). Steve is a social entrepreneur mentor under the aegis of the Business in the Community (BITC - UK) where he provides young entrepreneurs with tips and advice on how to start and run healthy and successful business enterprises.

He is also a member of faculty of a number of business schools and a regular speaker at Entrepreneurship and Leadership Development events. Steve is the author of “Quick Win tips for Entrepreneurs” and co-author “Crowdfunding and Entrepreneurship. He is happily married with lovely children and enjoys travelling and sports. He is a Deltan.
